Math and Science Academy is seeking a Study Hall Monitor to join our team as soon as possible. This position operates on the school calendar, with additional non-student contact dates as assigned. The Study Hall Monitor provides supervision, structure, and academic encouragement to students during before-school hours and designated study hall periods. This role plays a key part in fostering a welcoming, organized, and focused learning environment for high school students. Schedule: School calendar-based (student contact days plus assigned non-student contact dates). Approximately 26.5 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Establish positive, supportive rapport with students while serving as a professional role model. Supervise students during before-school coverage and scheduled study hall periods. Maintain an orderly, focused learning environment by redirecting off-task or disruptive behavior. Ensure PSEO (Postsecondary Enrollment Options) and high school students remain engaged and use study time productively. Revise study hall procedures or assign seating as needed for health, safety, or behavior management. Assist students with smooth transitions between study periods and scheduled activities. Address questions and communicate student or operational concerns through appropriate administrative channels. Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration. Miscellaneous Duties: Promote the MSA Mission and Vision in all professional communications and daily interactions. Actively embody MSA Core Values throughout all job responsibilities. Interact with and support all students in a fair, equitable, and respectful manner. Physical Job Requirements Movement: Frequent standing and walking throughout assigned shifts. Lifting & Force: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Working Conditions Duties are performed in a standard school setting with minimal environmental hazards or risks.
