Duties of the Student Support Specialist include: * Support at-risk students with social-emotional and behavioral interventions/supports. * Work in collaboration with School Social Worker, Principal, and other building staff to plan and implement supports for the identified at-risk students. * Support school-wide implementation of positive behavioral supports, including Check and Connect, Relaxation Room, and other identified interventions/techniques. * Consult & communicate effectively with students, building staff, and families. * Attend building Problem Solving Team Meetings (bi-weekly). * Using data to prepare schedules and coordinate interventions. * Maintain documentation of interventions Position Requirements: To perform this job effectively, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Candidate will have a mindset focused on all students. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with students and families from diverse racial, cultural, and economic and linguistic backgrounds. Other Skills & Abilities: Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. Candidate will have an awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Training or background in mental health, social emotional needs, and trauma is beneficial. Bilingual candidates preferred. Position Description:
