Coordinate the acquisition, extraction, transformation, storage, security, analysis, and reporting of data. Work collaboratively with various members of district leadership teams to interpret and share critical student performance data, as well as satisfy operational and regulatory data requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 55% Assessment Administration, Data Analysis, and Reporting * Lead the administration and reporting of all federal, state, and local student assessments * Analyze student testing data, interim assessments, and other data to identify trends and inform district strategic planning efforts * Serve as the district&#8217;s assessment and data warehouse administrator * Collaborate with Student Information System (SIS) leaders and users to design and monitor protocols in order to ensure data integrity * Develop timely reports for ongoing analysis by district leaders and advise school principals in data mining tools to support their monthly data analysis * Partner with Teaching & Learning Coordinators for effective evaluation of program implementation * Establish and develop data and assessment initiatives for the district * Ensure the school board policies and legislative requirements are applied appropriately in practice and advise the Director of Teaching and Learning of recommended changes 20% Professional Development and Support * Build, maintain, and promote a culture of effective data use for continuous improvement * Lead professional development for all staff to improve assessment and data literacy * Support district leaders, building principals, and school leadership teams with analysis and utilization of student achievement data 20% Communication and Collaboration * Manage external vendor relations related to data and assessment * Collaborate with Teaching & Learning Coordinators on projects, including the promotion and communication to staff, parents and community members * Participate in the Principal/Coordinator meetings with the goal of educating and providing feedback on data and assessments projects and committee work * Ensure timely communication with teachers, coaches, principals, and other staff at all schools * Actively participate in regional cooperatives, leadership groups, conferences, and collaborative efforts 5% Supervision and Work Direction * Develop and manage an annual budget for data and assessment systems and professional development costs * Assist building principals and/or Director of Teaching and Learning, with hiring, assignment, transfer, evaluation, work direction, promotion, reward and other supervision of academic coaches, teachers and support staff * Consult as needed with the principal or other administrator for adjustment of grievances, suspension, discipline and discharge WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS: Education/Certification Requirement: Master&#8217;s degree with coursework in education, teaching, administration, or related field and moderate experience working in school environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minnesota Teaching License preferred. Administrator&#8217;s license preferred. Essential Skills Required to Perform the Work: Leadership, positive communication and interpersonal skills, collaboration, knowledge of Minnesota state standards, experience with data extraction, reporting and analysis, demonstrated knowledge of database design and data techniques, ability to problem solve, maintain an effective, positive and professional working relationship with associates, students, and general public. Mental Job Requirements: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, attention to detail, ability to accommodate frequent interruptions, coordination within the department to ensure deadlines are met, ability to analyze complex data, receive, interpret, and synthesize detailed information. Working Conditions: Occasional exposure to outdoors, work is generally in a noisy location (business office with light to moderate traffic). Travel among schools and out of district on a weekly basis is a common occurrence. JOB SUMMARY: Lead the development, implementation, and management of student data and assessment information systems.
