Provides transition to and from high school from off-site programs. 2. Coordinates and administers students with school avoidance issues; also assists in truancy issues. 3. Provides individual and group support to help students resolve and/or cope with anxiety, personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with their educational experience or cause school phopia. 4. Provides services to parents as an integral part of the task of helping students; to gain their parental participation in resolving their child's problems. 5. Assists families to better understand the school and its' programs and to strengthen the communication link between school and home. 6. Assists teachers and school administration through identification of special needs a child may have in school. 7. Serve as a liaison between home, school community and other agencies through maintenance of positive relationships. 8. Provides crisis intervention services. 9. Participates in faculty meetings, special education meetings and inservice training. 10. Fosters social work development through participation in workshops and conferences. 11. Ability to lead student groups. 12. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Provide assessments which involve preparation of social and developmental histories. 2. Other tasks include administering social interaction instruments, interviewing parents, child and staff, observation of child in school, collection of agencies reports, and review of school information. Knowledge and Skills: 1. Has demonstrated knowledge in using a variety of behavior management strategies for high school age students. 2. Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines. 3. Demonstrated ability to operate a computer, software and necessary technology. 4. Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community. 5. Show initiative and function as a self-starter. 6. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
