FTE: 0.56 Position Description: This is a K-5 PE teacher position. Candidates selected to fill the role of PE teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to excellence for each and every student. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. Qualifications: * Must have a valid MN teaching license and PE teaching credentials. * Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience and extensive understanding of PE strategies to promote health, teamwork, and fitness. * Ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of core areas in PE. * Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners. * Ideal candidates will have experience honoring student strengths, creativity, and leveraging a connected pedagogy. * Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment. * Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff. * Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances. * Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring. * Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning.
