FTE: 0.5 Position Description: Candidates selected to fill the role of K-5 Math Intervention teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence for each and every student. This will be done by working with students to identify strengths and weaknesses and coach them towards developing number sense, foundational math skills, and additional problem-solving strategies in alignment with the district Math Intervention parameters. This position may also serve to provide expertise to grade level PLC's with regards to providing classroom teachers with math strategies and PD to personalize math learning with all students. Service on the Problem-Solving Team (PST) and support of teachers throughout the RtI (MTSS) process is also expected. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. Qualifications: * Must have a valid MN teaching license. * Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience and extensive understanding of mathematics development/learning. * Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of core areas in mathematics and experience teaching math skills. * Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) and/or Bridges training experience is a plus. * Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners. * Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment. * Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents and staff. * Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances. * Must be proficient with current technology used to support student learning, communication, academics, and student progress monitoring. * Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning. Position Description:
