Assistant Director, TRIO Educational Talent Search - Century College

Position Purpose: This position, in collaboration with the Project Director, is responsible for managing the delivery of program services, activities and recordkeeping that are within the scope of the Educational Talent Search/TRIO project through targeted St. Paul secondary schools, thus enabling 636 selected participants to succeed in achieving their personal, educational and career exploration goals. TRIO/ETS runs programming daily at five separate program sites, and often off-site on field trips. For this reason, the Assistant Director is responsible for frequent onsite decision making related to programming best practices, safety and liability concerns at sites where the Director is not present. Position Responsibilities: * Provide student advising and program assistance to students and families. * Conduct large and small group lessons on topics relevant to the needs of the participants according to the grant requirements. * Administer student self-assessments and follow-up meetings. * Initiate and participate in recruitment activities. * Manage recordkeeping of program services in collaboration with Project Director. * Management of recordkeeping, including data entry and filing processes and data integrity, to meet USDE data requirements * Manage delivery of program services in collaboration with Project Director. * Ensure project compliance. * Coordinate, design, implement and participate in all aspects of program activities. * Plan college visits, educational field trips including multi-day and overnight experiences. Minimum Qualifications: (expected to have to enter job) &#183; Must pass a criminal background check. &#183; Bachelor&#8217;s degree &#183; At least one (1) years of experience advising or providing other creative, relevant services to economically disadvantaged, socially disenfranchised and minority middle or high school students is required. &#183; Experience and/or training in data collection and database management &#183; Strong written and oral communication skills &#183; Ability to plan, organize, and administer multiple activities and meet deadlines &#183; Personal computing/technology skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with and comfort utilizing multiples types of technology in an education setting. * The applicant (the employee) should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations. &#183; Must have a valid Minnesota Driver&#8217;s License and a good driving record. &#183; Must have reliable transportation.
