Primary Function The Special Education Coordinator collaborates with Special Education teachers, educational assistants, service providers, IEP teams, the principal, and the Special Education Director to cultivate and sustain a culture of learning that meets the diverse needs of scholars, staff, and families. The Special Education Coordinator is responsible for leading, facilitating, coaching, and supervising Special Education personnel and programs; developing effective parent, teacher, and scholar communications; supporting, mentoring, and evaluating staff; and fostering teamwork between teachers, staff, and parents. The principal supervises the Special Education Coordinator, who supervises licensed Special Education teachers and support staff, as assigned.
