Primary duties include: * implementing Tier II and Tier III PBIS strategies * working in partnership with the teacher to provide support to the specialized instruction, skill instruction, behavioral data collection, and behavioral crisis intervention * serving as a PBIS Internal Coach Duties & Responsibilities * Provide pro-social behavioral and social skills programming for students to assist in effecting positive behavioral change in students. * Provide crisis intervention as a part of the application of positive behavior supports. * Assist in the planning and implementation of student behavior management strategies. * Supervise and work directly with students to address inappropriate behaviors and help them adopt behaviors that will help them become more academically successful. * Assist in teaching pro-social skills by modeling appropriate interactions, providing pro-social feedback, and holding students accountable for their choices and behaviors. * Assist classroom teachers and staff throughout the school day by providing support and behavioral interventions as needed. * Assist classroom teachers with behavior intervention planning and implementation as needed. * Participate in classroom debriefings each day to assist in behavior intervention planning and programming. * Meet with individual students as needed to support behavior interventions and student accountability. * Assist in the supervision of students in the school setting. * Process individual student behaviors/issues/concerns with students as needed. * Maintain and protect confidential information regarding students and programming. * Participate in student team and/or IEP meetings, as needed. Qualifications and Skills Required: * Knowledge of behavioral management and techniques * Experience working with students with social, emotional and/or behavioral needs Preferred: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in education, psychology, or related field * Knowledge of positive intervention supports, behavior management, crisis response, de-escalation, and physical restraint * Two years&#8217; experience working with children in an organized setting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus. * Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process. * Ability to collect, summarize, and graph behavioral data. * Ability to use and model research-based and evidence-based classroom management and individualized behavioral interventions. * Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, verbally and in writing, including electronic media. * Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes. * Knowledge regarding the development and monitoring of individual student goals. * Ability to assist in the management of student behaviors in the classroom. Job Summary
