271 Belvidere is hiring a Speech Pathologist B23. Qualifications A valid license in the area of Speech Pathology issued by the Minnesota Department of Education. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles, as well as, teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities. * Knowledge of, and the ability to use, the due process system, including timelines and due process paperwork. * Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and students from diverse backgrounds. * Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: * Support the State of Minnesota Graduation Standards and content area packages to promote curriculum in the school. * Screen, identify, assess, and diagnose disorders of communication including articulation, voice, language, and fluency. Use state eligibility criteria to make decisions regarding service eligibility. * Provide treatment and intervention, including consultation and follow-up to children, from birth to twenty-one years of age, diagnosed with communication disorders. Determine specific, reasonable, and appropriate goals and objectives and measure treatment outcomes through a program of periodic monitoring and data collection. * Counsel students and their families/caregivers and other service providers regarding specific communication disorders and their management; make referrals when appropriate. * Select, prescribe and provide services supporting effective use of assistive technology devices and other forms of augmentative and alternative communication. * Serve as case manager and advocate for the students served. * Collaborate with other professionals. Use communication skills that take into consideration the communication needs and cultural values of others. * Document services for accountability and related billing requirements. * Contribute to the District's inclusive workplace efforts by fostering a safe, welcoming and respectful environment. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
