Position Summary: The Special Services Coordinator is responsible to promote the educational development of students with special learning needs; and under the direction of the Executive Director to share in the duties and responsibilities of providing leadership to special education programs and services, supervision of instruction, evaluation of special education certified staff and paraprofessionals, special services contracts, and public relations. Position Requirements: The Coordinator must possess and demonstrate excellent leadership interpersonal and organizational skills, highly developed written and oral communication skills, successful experience working with individuals and groups, demonstrated ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution, and collaborative approaches with stakeholders. A valid MN Director of Special Education license is required, or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire, with a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience; three or more years of teaching experience with special education students/programs preferred. Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC) is a collaborative initiative of Faribault, Medford, Northfield, and Owatonna public schools committed to implementing specialized programming that meets the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.
