Assignment: Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (broad-based/combined program) Qualifications Required License: Agricultural Education (010100) Preferred Licenses: Work-Based Learning (160000) Position Summary: West Central Area is seeking a 1.0 FTE Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) teacher for the upcoming school year. The AFNR department has experienced exponential growth and based on community interest and support, is expected to grow. Courses taught may include introduction to agriculture, animal science, plant science, greenhouse operations, food processing, ag small engines, ag transportation, ag work based learning, and ag welding. The program has a brand-new meat processing lab and operates a school greenhouse. West Central Area AFNR program implements each of the three-components of the AFNR model including work-based learning through SAE projects and leadership development through FFA. The teacher will be the lead advisor for the school&#8217;s successful FFA chapter. An extended contract of 20 days is available and an FFA advisor stipend is included with this position. Candidates must have a current agriculture teaching license (function code 010100) or a relevant industry certification/license, degree, or five years of industry experience related to agriculture, food, or natural resources.
