St. Pascal Regional Catholic School is a warm and welcoming community dedicated to providing a faith-based education to students from preschool through eighth grade in St. Paul. As a Part-Time Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will support our lead teachers in creating engaging learning experiences that promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of our preschool students. This is a great opportunity for early childhood or elementary education majors to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative educational setting.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our preschool team. Under the supervision of the Lead Preschool Teacher and the Director of Early Childhood Learning, the Assistant Preschool Teacher will assist with day-to-day tasks such as preparing lessons, supporting students during activities, and maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in early childhood education or a related field and have a passion for working with young children. This is a part-time position that requires a commitment to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that reflects the values of Catholic education.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher with preparing and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities
* Support students during lessons, small group activities, and playtime to promote their development
* Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
* Communicate effectively with the Lead Preschool Teacher, other staff members, and families
* Use active listening and problem-solving skills to support the needs of students
* Learn technology skills as required by the position
* Perform other job-related tasks as deemed necessary and/or assigned by the Lead Preschool Teacher or Principal
Schedule: $17 - $20 per hour non-exempt benefit-eligible position. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am-5:30pm. Additional sub hours may be available.

Qualifications
* Enrolled in an early childhood education or related degree program
* Experience working with young children, either through volunteer work or paid employment
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with families
* Develop and maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues
* Knowledge of pre-kindergarten educational practices and techniques
* Demonstrate willingness to learn technology skills as required by the position
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children
