RESOURCE CO-TEACHER Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a resource co-teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. RBA has a caring and compassionate culture, with teachers and staff committed to creating a safe, joyful and inclusive learning environment. The administration places a high value on work-life balance for both students and staff, recognizing the importance of a healthy work-life balance for academic success. In addition, the school uses trauma-informed practices to support and respect students in ways that acknowledge and address the impact of past traumatic experiences. These practices help create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional healing and academic success. Overall, the charter school is a small, caring educational institution that is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students, particularly those with special education needs. Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to: * Planning and teaching daily lessons that engage and challenge students at various levels of understanding and ability * Manage a caseload of students with IEPs * Possibility of co-teaching model * Fulfill due process requirements * Implementing student IEPs * Evaluating student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and written assignments as well as formative assessments * Providing feedback to students and parents on student performance and progress * Developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth * Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special needs or who require additional support * Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and student interventions * Integrating technology and other resources to enhance student learning * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student grades, attendance, and behavior * Participating in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay current with educational trends and best practices. * Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to actively work to create an environment that supports and respects all students. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Special Education. * Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting. * Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. * Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies. * Ability to create and implement effective individualized learning plans. * Experience with inclusive classroom settings. * Familiarity with behavioral management techniques. * Training in autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, or other specialized areas. * License areas - A Minnesota Teaching license in any of the following areas: ASD, ABS, LD, EBD, or other special education areas Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year based on experience and qualifications Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Retirement plan * Vision insurance Schedule and Location: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday In Person * Rochester, MN 55902: Relocate before starting work (Required) If interested in applying, please complete the following: 1.
