Hancock Public School, a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School, has an opening for a full-time high school Science teacher beginning with the 2025-26 school year. Our District is currently seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual who is passionate about teaching, energetic, and can maintain our excellent science program. Candidates must be self-directed and possess the desire, drive, and creativity to develop our Science program into an extraordinary learning experience for our students. The ability to integrate technology into the curriculum is essential. In 2019, due to continued growth, our community overwhelmingly passed a bond and added another new addition to our current facility. This addition included a new state of the art science classroom and a new STEM lab. While all licensure areas will be considered, priority will be given to applicants who possess the physical science/chemistry licensure. The successful applicant will team with another excellent science teacher. Hancock is a small, friendly community of approximately 800 residents located in West Central Minnesota. Hancock Public School is a financially sound district, and thanks to strong support and involvement from the community, and a committed staff, our student population continues to grow. Candidates interested in the position must: 1. Utilize best practice teaching strategies including differentiated instruction. 2. Have a strong background in technology including the use of SMART Boards, Chromebooks, and laptops in the classroom. 3. Be creative and forward thinking. 4. Be skilled at meeting the diverse needs of all learners. 5. Be knowledgeable in the use of data to differentiate and drive instruction. 6. Be outgoing and community minded. Willingness to invite/involve parents and community members in the classroom is a must. 7. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 8. Enjoy working as a collaborative team member in a K-12 setting. 9. Possess appropriate MN teaching license. Responsibilities Include: 1. Teaching Science courses to high school students while providing challenging curriculum for all students. 2. Maintaining accurate records of students&#8217; grades and attendance. 3. Participating in grade level and department meetings, aligning and deepening curriculum, improving pedagogy. 4. Practicing and carrying out rules and procedures as defined by the Hancock Public School District. 5. Participating fully in all staff development and staff collaboration such as in-service, staff meetings, department work, committee work, parent teacher conference nights, etc. 6. Supporting the Principal with supervision of students. Coaching vacancies include: Assistant Football, Assistant Girls Basketball, Head Softball. Willingness/ability to coach is not a priority in the hiring process.
