Becker School District is conveniently located off of US Hwy 10, just 20 minutes SE from St. Cloud and 45 minutes NW from the Twin Cities. Position Summary
Becker High School is seeking a full time licensed School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. We are seeking a committed person willing to believe that all students can achieve post-secondary success if properly prepared in high school. The position will have aspects of general education support, special education scheduling, and 504 plans.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support: Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
Academic Guidance: Assist students in setting and achieving academic goals, including course selection, study habits, and time management.
Career Counseling: Guide students in exploring career options, preparing for post-secondary education, and navigating the college application process.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention during student crises, including collaborating with external agencies when necessary.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
Program Development: Create and deliver developmental guidance programs that address topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and stress management.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, assessments, and referrals in compliance with school and district policies.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in counseling and education through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferred Master's degree in school counseling.
MN K-12 school counselor license.
Commitment and passion for educational equity and ensuring that all students have equal access to rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.
Salary Range: BA, Step 1 at $47,057/yr to MA60, Step 15 at $89,203 /yr. Placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the bargaining unit attached.
