Reports to: Jennifer Johnson, Director of Special Education
Assignment: 2025-2026 School Year
Hours: 8 per day, Monday through Friday

Job Summary: The Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator will provide leadership and support to the Early Childhood Special Education programming throughout the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative for children from birth to age 5. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative. The Principal of Early Learning for Brainerd Public Schools provides supervision and work direction to this position as well.
This position will work with Brainerd Public Schools, supporting Early Childhood Special Education Programming from Birth-5. The majority of daily responsibilities will include supporting Brainerd Early Learning Sites.
Qualifications- Education, Training, and Experience:
* Current Minnesota Teacher License in Special Education (ECSE preferred)
* Experience teaching in special education (ECSE preferred)
* Leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledgeable in child find, due process procedures, program development, alternative dispute resolution, and problem solving.
* Interpersonal skills to work with families, staff, and outside agencies
* Understanding of confidentiality rules and regulations
* Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Google, and other computer applications
Support Districts and ECSE Teachers in the following areas:
* Due Process support (Part C and Part B)
* Attend IFSP/IEP meetings
* Facilitate Conciliation Conferences
* Membership Attendance Service Hours (MASH)
* Child Outcomes Summary Forms (COSF)
* Evidence-Based Quality Intervention Practices (EQIP)
* Pyramid Model
* Programming
* Assist team with placement determination
* Best practices within classrooms
* Problem Solving
* Problem-solving student behaviors
* Extended School Year
* Central Referral Intake
* Provide professional learning:
* New Teacher Training's
