Community School of Excellence (CSE) is a Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade Hmong Language and Culture Charter school that is a family. Job Summary
The Coordinator will be responsible for working in partnership with the bus companies to provide overall coordination in developing and implementing a comprehensive transportation for all families. The Coordinator will report directly to the Office Manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Coordinating Transportation
Works directly with the transportation company to ensure efficient and cost effective transportation for all students.
Coordinate all transportation needs for the school including field trips, summer school and after school programs.
Ensuring all daily bus arrivals and departures clears for end of day.
Evaluate and implement transportation vendor capable of providing CSE with all transportation needs efficiently and safely within allocated budget
Plans and schedules all bus route and coordinates assignment of routes with transportation company
Analyze student enrollment to anticipate route and possible required adjustments
Assure that all routes meet CSE bus/vans stop criteria
Manage and handle all questions or complaints regarding transportation
Develop, implement and monitor bus/vans behavior policy and procedure in partnership with the bus/van company.
Maintains, checks and evaluates each route periodically over the school year.
Assist with pick up and drop off students and parents on the school vans.
Updates family and student information on infinite campus on a continual basis
Ensure that students are on the appropriate buses/vans in the afternoon/at dismissal.
Ensuring temporary transportation requests are tracked and accurate for bus passes.
Ensuring bus passes are printed and sorted daily for distributing to classrooms.
Ensuring Annual Transportation reports are completed and submitted.
Provide support to operations (facilities, food service, security, and office) as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Position Specifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Bilingual in English and Hmong, Karen or Karenni preferred
Experience and aptitude working with young children
High level of patience and ability to calmly and clearly redirect and guide young children
Demonstrated multi-cultural experience and ability to communicate with limited-English speakers
Demonstrates superior judgment in all aspects of work.
Ability to meet deadlines and hold oneself accountable to meeting deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and handle high volume of interruptions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a strong team player.
Familiarity and comfort with electronic forms of communication, including ready access and responsiveness to e-
mail correspondence.
Ability to sit for long-periods of time and enter student and staff data accurately into Infinite Campus and for other state required reports
Organizational/planning skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (law enforcement major preferred)
Valid driver’s license with no serious violations
Ability to de-escalate conflict, problem solve and ensure orderly student behavior
Knowledge of Hmong culture and issues facing Southeast Asian communities, especially
