The Pre-K Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This position assists with implementing developmentally appropriate instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and supporting students'' social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in alignment with early childhood standards.
Responsibilities:
Instructional and Learning Support
Assist with daily lesson implementation and learning center activities under the guidance of the lead teacher.
Work with individual children or small groups to reinforce early literacy, math, motor, and social-emotional skills.
Engage children in interactive play and exploration that supports their development.
Classroom Management
Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, meals, and recess.
Promote positive behavior through modeling, redirection, and the use of classroom routines.
Help maintain a calm, consistent classroom atmosphere and support children with separation anxiety or emotional regulation needs.
Health, Safety and Physical Support
Ensure constant supervision of children and maintain a safe learning environment.
Support children with toileting, diapering, and hygiene needs, following health and sanitation procedures.
Assist with meals, snacks, and cleanup routines.
Collaboration and Communication
Communicate daily with the classroom teacher about student progress and needs.
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and family situations.
Classroom Organization
Prepare and organize instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom displays.
Support classroom cleaning and sanitizing routines.
Help track student attendance, observations, and daily routines as requested.

Build a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for multilingual learners and intervention groups.
Cultivate strong relationships with students and families, fostering joy, belonging, and trust.
Model and reinforce school-wide expectations, values, and restorative practices.
Support schoolwide events, family engagement nights, and community partnerships.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3–5)
Ability to lift and assist young children and manage active classroom environments
Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in early childhood development
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
