Friday, 8:05 AM ? 8:35 AM on student contact days Location: On-campus / Designated Pedestrian Crosswalks Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, safety-minded Morning Crossing Guard to help ensure the safe arrival of our students and families each school day. This role plays a critical part in managing pedestrian safety, assisting students as they cross busy streets, and promoting a secure, welcoming environment during morning drop-off. Key Responsibilities Manage Crosswalk Safety: Escort students safely across the designated crosswalk during peak morning arrival times. Model & Enforce Safety Rules: Remind students of proper pedestrian safety practices (e.g., waiting for traffic to stop, walking rather than running). Observe & Report: Monitor the crossing area for potential safety hazards, traffic violations, or unsafe conditions and report concerns to school administration. Maintain Visibility: Wear provided high-visibility safety gear (reflective vest) and carry equipment at all times while on duty. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Punctual and highly reliable (must be on-site and ready by 8:05 AM sharp every school day). Strong alertness, spatial awareness, and ability to assess moving traffic quickly. Friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and drivers. Ability to stand, walk, and hold a handheld stop sign for the full 30-minute shift in various weather conditions (rain, cold, heat). Must pass a standard background check and complete required district safety training prior to starting.
