Star of the North Academy is looking for Director of Education for the 2026-2027 school year.
SNA is a Minnesota public charter schools with its campuses in East Bethel and Coon Rapids.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Masters degree
2. Experience with leading a team of high performing team members
3.Ability to write/manage grants
4.Experience working with multi-million dollar budgets and non-profit organizations
5.Work effectively with parents, teachers, and other support staff.
6.Reaches logical conclusions and makes high-quality decisions based on available information. Gives priority and caution to significant issues. Seeks out relevant data,
facts, and impressions. Analyzes and interprets complex information.
7.Assumes responsibility. Recognizes when a decision is required. Takes prompt action as issues emerge. Resolves short-term issues while balancing them against long-term objectives.
8.Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
9.Demonstrates a personal and professional code of ethics. Brings ethical principles to the decision-making process. Subordinates one’s interest to the good of the school community.
10.Involves key stakeholders in the decision-making process.
11.Passionate about working with high-need students
12.Knowledgeable about working with students with mental health needs
Job Description
The employee shall faithfully perform the services prescribed by the school board, whether or not such services are specifically described in this job description, and abide by the rules and regulations established by the school board and the State of Minnesota. The board may change job descriptions and duties anytime during the school year.
Responsibilities:
1. Attend all staff meetings and professional development sessions
2. Actively participate in the recruitment of students
a. Includes organizing and participating in enrollment opportunities
b. Includes formal and informal events and educational opportunities
3. Work with businesses, colleges, and community members to provide student
opportunities
4.Act as a school representative at professional functions as needed.
5.Develop strategies to improve the educational outcomes for all students
6.Develop processes and procedures to meet and exceed the MCA expectations
7.Motivate staff and students by building a shared community based on clear goals, regular recognition and meaningful engagement.
8.Responsible for Strategic Planning (with the school board)
9.Attend Board Meetings
10.Education point of Contact for school
11.Direct supervisor of staff/teachers
12.Responsible for professional development planning
13.Evaluate teachers and staff
