Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is looking for a Special Education Teacher to serve as the district assessment teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Special Education Assessment Teacher (SEAT) serves the K-12 Dassel-Cokato School District with a focus on individualized student assessments to assist our special education teams district-wide. The position entails experience in providing data-driven educational programming recommendations, knowledge of special educational eligibility criteria, administering a variety of standardized assessments and collecting informal data and information as it pertains to a student.
Essential Functions
* Collaborates with special education case managers, IEP teams and school psychologist to plan and complete special education evaluations
* Facilitates effective verbal and written communication between parents, principals, and IEP teams
* Participates in regularly scheduled assessment team meetings with school psychologist, Special Education Supervisor and service providers to plan and develop comprehensive evaluations (including functional behavior assessments and transition assessments
* Demonstrates efficient, accurate and organized completion of evaluation paperwork as required through due process
* Effectively and clearly reports evaluation findings to teams
* Is proficient in special education criteria requirements
* Coordinates special education evaluations with members of the child study teams
* Facilitates evaluation portion of team meetings
* Manages the system of evaluation due dates as they align with IEP due dates
* Secures technology needs working with Special Education Supervisor and Director of Technology in order to sustain evaluation completion needs (iPad use, etc…)
* Monitors and manages protocols for instruments used within the evaluation team
* Attends building Child Study Team meetings
* Attends ongoing training as it pertains to special education evaluations, standardized testing and disability content areas
Qualifications
* Minnesota Teaching License in special education will be considered
* Experience with completing special education evaluations for a minimum of three years is prioritized
