Gateway STEM Academy Location: Saint Paul, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2026-2027 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K-8 charter school in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in grades 6-8 through rigorous, student-centered instruction that builds mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and a strong conceptual understanding of mathematics. This role requires a commitment to culturally responsive teaching, data-driven instruction, and fostering a growth mindset in all students. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned math lessons that support students'' understanding of key mathematical concepts. Use a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on learning, project-based activities, and technology integration, to enhance student engagement. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those needing additional support or enrichment. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction. Promote a classroom culture that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance in problem-solving. Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students to support their mathematical growth. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student success. Maintain high expectations for student engagement, behavior, and academic achievement. Communicate regularly with families about student progress, classroom activities, and strategies to support learning at home. Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master?s degree preferred). Valid Minnesota teaching license in Mathematics. Experience teaching middle school math , with a strong understanding of mathematical pedagogy and adolescent learners. Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with middle school students. Proficiency in using student data to drive instruction and improve outcomes.
