POSITION SUMMARY
Ortonville Public Schools is seeking a passionate, forward-thinking educator to lead our High School Business program with the possibility of serving as the district’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator. It is an opportunity to anchor a growing Career Pathways program connecting Ortonville students to real-world experiences across Business and Entrepreneurship, Skilled Trades, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Human Services.
Our newly adopted 2026–2031 Strategic Plan places student engagement, personalized learning, and career-connected experiences at the center of what we do. The educator we hire will help build that future alongside students, staff, families, and community partners.
ABOUT ORTONVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Ortonville is a tight-knit western Minnesota community on the shore of Big Stone Lake, where families know the school by name and the school knows the community. Our Strategic Plan is built on five core values: Student Success, Safety and Security, Relationships and Community, Integrity and Character, and Lifelong Learning. Our work is guided by the G.R.O.W.S. framework: we Grow, Relate, Own, Work with Purpose, and Serve.
Educators here have a direct line to the work. Decisions are made close to the classroom, partnerships with local employers are real and active, and the impact of a strong teacher is visible across the community.
WHY THIS ROLE
• Program anchor. Lead the Business and Entrepreneurship pathway and coordinate work-based learning experiences across all five Career Pathways.
• Real partnerships. Build and strengthen relationships with Ortonville-area employers, civic organizations, and postsecondary partners that translate directly into student internships, job shadows, and credentialed experiences.
• Personalized learning. Design instruction that connects each student’s interests and goals to authentic career exploration and the traits in our Portrait of a Graduate.
• Investment in you. Ortonville Public Schools will support the successful candidate in obtaining or renewing the Work-Based Learning endorsement, including coursework and licensure costs.
• Visible impact. Your work will be a public expression of the district’s strategic commitment to career readiness and community partnership.
