SUMMARY:
Assist in supporting the transportation department with various duties, including but not limited to providing clerical and customer support for the transportation department for internal and external customers by providing specialized clerical and technical duties related to transportation and related responsibilities requiring creative solutions to specialized department needs. Answer correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information. Interact with a diverse group of external customers and internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize, and carry out a diversified workload and make recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures. In addition, candidates must have a positive attitude, be willing to work as part of a team and be flexible with their daily assignments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
* Foster positive communication between the school site, staff, and parents.
* Provide clerical & customer support with all inquiries that come into the transportation department for internal and external customers
* Delivering customer service that embodies the District mission
* Assisting school/department leaders with communications
* Acting as a liaison between parents, students, community and site/department staff
* Communicating and coordinating services with internal and external vendors to ensure quality service to our school system
* Submitting business forms, requisitions, office supply requests
* Provide clerical and administrative supports to Director and Assistant Director of the transportation department
* Answering and transferring phone calls;
* Processing copy requests from staff;
* Enter data into spreadsheets and/or databases.
* All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
* Valid Driver’s license.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

Required Knowledge:
* Ability to type, maintain records and file.
* Computer experience.
* Dispatch Experience is a plus.
Required Skills:
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

* Proficiency in database management and web-based systems.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
